When Intention Becomes the Work Itself

When Intention Becomes the Work Itself

Some seasons ask for more than preparation.

As Ramadan approached, the work began to feel different. Not heavier, but more deliberate. Each decision carried a quiet weight, as if it needed to pass a second question before moving forward. Is this necessary. Is this respectful. Is this enough.

During this time, intention stops being something you talk about and becomes something you practice.

The pace naturally slowed, even while the planning continued. There was more space between decisions. More pauses before saying yes. More care taken with what was included and what was left out.

This kind of work does not look efficient on the surface. It is thoughtful instead. It asks you to notice when something feels excessive, even if it looks impressive. It asks you to choose simplicity, even when complexity is available.

I found myself thinking about how gifts are received during this season. Not as objects, but as gestures. As reminders. As quiet acknowledgments of care.

Cheerdrop did not need to be louder during Ramadan. It needed to be gentler. More precise. More aware of the moments it was entering.

This was the work before the work. The alignment before the action.

And it mattered.
